Restoration Services

Pedals Pumpers & Rolls has specialized in full player piano restorations and sales for more than forty years. In most cases, the restorable instruments Roger takes a restorable instrument and rebuilds it to "as new" operating condition. Other services include refinishing, re stringing and piano action repairs and regulation.

These services apply to player upright pianos, grand player pianos (Ampico, DuoArt, Welte-Mignon, Recordo etc.), coin operated nickelodeons, orchestrions and square grand pianos. The objective is to replace and renew materials and finishes that have deteriorated from use, age or poor storage conditions and return the instruments to full usability and appearance (as desired) for another useable life of forty years. Only the most thorough work and use of original materials (leather, rubberized cloth and neoprene tubing) and original glues will return the player mechanism to proper air-tight operation and provide a long lifetime of enjoyable use.

Pump organs (reed organs, harmoniums) are another specialty and the application of a slightly different set of skills will restore these instruments to decades of service and pleasure.

Only the most general of price information can be provided without personal inspection of any instrument to be quoted for restoration, as many factors may influence the final quote, such as: previous bad repair work; exceedingly damp or dry storage; extreme wear; rodent or moth damage; missing components or vandalism.
